In response to rider feedback and demand, Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) is making service adjustments to 16 routes that will take effect on Feb. 6. The routes affected include 4, 7, 8, 9, 107, 117, 120X, 121, 506, 684, 716, 719, 900X, 902, 924 and 940X, ETS said in a Friday afternoon public service announcement.
“Starting Feb. 6, ETS’ mid-winter service adjustments begin,” ETS said. “Five times each year, ETS reviews transit rider feedback, schedules, service levels and routes to ensure ETS is providing the right amount of service at the right time.”
ETS also announced the addition of on-demand transit service to five stops in The Hills at Charlesworth neighbourhood with a destination of Mill Woods Transit Centre.
Starting Feb. 14, the ETS’ on-demand transit will be available at the Mill Woods Transit Centre Bay Q, both stops at 38 Street and Charlesworth Drive SW and both stops at 39 Street and Charlesworth Drive SW.
On the same day, on-demand transit riders going to or from the communities of Henderson Estates and Falconer Heights can request service to and from the Leger Transit Centre, ETS said.
While ETS is announcing service changes and additional on-demand stops, the Omicron variant continues to have an impact on the transit workforce.
“As a result, short-term, temporary adjustments to service continue in the February schedule change,” said ETS. “These adjustments do not impact LRT, DATS or on-demand transit.”
